Welcome to our first – ‘New Look Email Newsletter’ for 2011.
Well life has certainly been sending us all some pretty extra ordinary times over the summer period. These days have certainly tested so many of us. But at the same time I’m always amazed at how people come together in trying times and achieve amazing things! It has made me want to create something that can become a legacy within my family. I want something that can be handed down, loved, cherished and bring a smile and in some cases have the kids vying for that special piece! (My current quilt is the subject of much debate as to who is going to receive it!) I guess that means that they like what their seeing!!
My grandson ‘Will’ who is a frequent visitor to my studio and proudly chants “cutting, cutting, cutting!” Is going to be my little protégé! He tries to pin, he sits at the machine with me, helps with the fabric and loves the cutting!! At 2 he’s got an amazing grasp of the scissors, not sure his father encourages him as much as I do! I think much of my inspiration comes watching Will touch and explore everything around the farm. I love the fact that life is amazing to him.
I have been working on so many projects over the summer months and some have been completed – others have become UFO’s and some need to be finished…. Does this sound familiar? Yes I have heaps of those pesky projects that I’ll get back to, but….. For now their lying around, hiding in obscure places, or just plain tucked in a corner! But I have every intention of completing them. I have made it my goal for the year, what’s yours?
We will be in Sydney next week. So if you’re in the area come along to the Craft Expo at Rosehill Racecourse. This is a new event organized by Expertise Events. (The company that presents the Sydney ‘Craft and Quilt’ Show in Darling Harbour.) It will be on from Thursday 10 March through to Sunday 13 March 10.00am – 4.30pm daily. Come on down if you are in the area.
We look forward to seeing everyone throughout the year at the Craft shows, and I promise we have some amazing new products, beautiful quilts and 2 exciting BOMs starting soon.
